Our Student Showcase is Sunday, April 27!

See what Dance Station has to offer at our Student Showcase this Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. Admission is $10; kids are free! Dance Station students — including our Kids Group — and teachers will show what they’ve been working on this year. Enjoy many styles of dance, from ballroom and Latin to swing and Argentine tango. Teachers Lawrence Black, Mary Miller, Mike Garcia, and Elli Hindmarch will also perform a special number. We’ll have refreshments on hand, and you could win one of the many door prizes we’ll be giving away, including free private lessons and group classes!…

Intro to Social Dance, Country Two Step, with Mary
Just getting started in dancing? Our Intro to Social Dance class is tailored for beginning dancers with little or no experience. Each class will introduce the basic skills of partnering (leading or following), timing, and basic movement. We will focus on a different popular dance every week, including salsa, Country-Western, swing, and tango.

This class is excellent for repetition practice for newer dancers and a wonderful way to get started in the world of dance. This is a drop-in class, so there is no long-term commitment. Just come when you can. You can sign up and pay online here, or pay when you come to class. Cost is $20per person per class.

7:30 pm – 9:30 pm
Dance Rounds

This is a great opportunity for Amateur and Pro/Am dancers to practice what they have been working on with their instructors. Rhythm, Smooth and Standard styles will be danced. Please talk to your instructor to sign up.

Cost: Amateur Couples $20

Pro/Am Couples $40 for first style, additional styles $10 each

Spectators are welcome to attend these informal events for free and can come and go as they please. Ballroom dancers always enjoy performing before an appreciative audience!

Just Dance! is a start-to-finish, nonstop aerobic dance/fitness class which incorporates a variety of dance styles and compelling choreography, set to popular music.

Kid’s class with Mary

Kids can communicate through dance, and partner/social dance is the ultimate art of communication. We want to help kids develop the skills, and provide opportunities for them, to communicate with their peers, and community. Skills developed on the dance floor will translate to their everyday lives presently and into adulthood.

Basic Swing with Elli and Mike
Learn the basic 6-count steps for slower and faster swing music, along with lead and follow techniques to enhance your enjoyment of partner dancing.
