Every year we are reminded on Thanksgiving Day to be grateful for the blessings in our life. I think we are fortunate that our culture provides us with this reminder. It is so easy to go through life forgetting to acknowledge the love and generosity of others and the great fortunes that befall us.
This year in particular I have a great deal to be grateful for. It was just less than a year ago when I took on the ownership and management of Dance Station. Last Thanksgiving, much of my personal and professional life was in flux. I wasn’t sure of my next step. Within these twelve short months, everything has been turned upside down and inside out, and through this journey I have found greater happiness and fulfillment than I imagined possible.
At Dance Station, our community of dancers has remained committed to its goals of excellence and self-improvement. I am in awe of the loyalty, love and support of which I have been a fortunate beneficiary. I am grateful that our wonderful students kept the faith. While others might have held back — especially in the current economy — waiting to see if the business would succeed, our students remained committed to the studio and to their dancing, supporting all of our activities and ensuring that our future is brighter than our past.
I also must express my endless gratitude to the extraordinary staff. They have worked tirelessly, giving so much of themselves for the success of the studio and their students. I am truly blessed to be surrounded by such talented and generous souls.
Of course, I am grateful for my family, my parents and sister whose unconditional love and support is behind every success in my life and whose patience and generosity are always the best example of living a good life.
This year also brought me Hayward, in whom I have found a partner who is more than I could have imagined. His generosity — which many of you have experienced in the beautiful chocolates he often provides for the parties — seems boundless. He has given sound business advice, many gifts and, most importantly, his valuable time. I will be forever grateful for his openheartedness.
My friends often hear me say that I lead a charmed life. Today, I am reminded exactly how charmed it is. My most heartfelt thanks to all of you all for the gifts in my life, the joys, the relationships. For it all I give thanks.
