Of special note to Dance Station students:
- Pleasure Pilots — Join Dance Station instructor Mike Garcia at the Odd Fellows Hall Saturday night for a swing dance featuring a live band. The six-member Pleasure Pilots (that’s them disembarking in the photo) specialize in “vintage” rhythm and blues and will definitely get the joint jumpin’.
- Mambo Room — If it’s salsa and mambo you’re looking for, the Mambo Room is the place to be Saturday night, at the Lodge at Santa Fe. DJ Avi starts spinning the tunes after a brief salsa lesson at 9 p.m., and the salsa, mambo, merengue, cumbia, bachata and cha cha cha dancing continues until 1:30 a.m.
- USA Dance — Join your fellow amateur ballroom dancers Sunday evening at the capacious Albuquerque Square Dance Center for the local USA Dance chapter’s twice-a-month event. Organizers play a variety of Latin and ballroom styles, and publish a program so you know what’s coming up. This week includes a foxtrot lesson with Randy Piatt.
